Abstract:
Fra imaging show til celler og proteinstrukturer Oddmund Bakke og K. Kristoffer Andersson, IMBV, Univ. Oslo. I anledning universitetets 200 års jubileum og Mat Nat Fakultetets 150 års jubileum i 2011 vi i oppdrag å fylle en dag med cellebiologi/strukturbiologi og lage en kortfilm med moderne mikroskopi som tema. Den 12. oktober ble et slikt møte arrangert i det høyteknologiske auditoriet i det nye IT bygget, Ole-Johan Dahls hus. Første del av programmet spente fra undervisning i cellebiologi til autofagi og det nyeste innen mikroskopi. On October 12 2011, Department of Molecular Biosciences arranges the IMBV Day. Time and place: Oct 12, 2011 09:00 AM - 04:15 PM, Auditorium Simula, Ole-Johan Dahls hus Image Our understanding of life has advanced tremendously during the last 20 years. Today we can determine the structure of molecules, alone and in complex with other molecules, and we can build detailed models of the functions of cells. Aided by advanced microscopy and data technology we can even make movies inside living cells, directly observing single molecules and cell constituents. On this day, leading local and international experts in cell biology and protein crystallography will explain cellular molecules and structures and our current understanding of living organisms. Through sound and pictures we will experience a 3D and 4D imaging show of cells, filmed using microscopic laser technology.
